Rani Therapeutics CEO named one of the most inspiring people in life sciences

Rani Therapeutics, a US-based company that has developed a novel approach for the oral delivery of large drug molecules, has announced that Chairman and CEO Mir Imran has been named to the 2018 PharmaVOICE 100 list, which recognises the most inspiring people in life sciences. It is the only awards programme to recognise leaders across a broad cross section of the global life-sciences industry.
Over the past 40 years, Imran has created and commercialised a number of breakthrough medical innovations, including a swallowable capsule called the RaniPill that delivers biologics without exposing medication to digestive enzymes in the intestinal tract. It stays protect inside the digestive tract until is enters the small intestine where it injects medication into the intestinal wall.
“My passion and life's work has been to understand and solve major unmet clinical needs, with the hope that new innovations can positively impact the lives of millions of patients,” Imran said. “Bringing new innovations to market for the benefit of patients keeps me motivated every day and my goal is to continue to push boundaries and solve problems for the rest of my life.”
