The Bali International Hospital to open in 2024
The new healthcare facility, which is currently under construction, is scheduled to commence operations in the second quarter of next year
The date was confirmed in a statement by Mira Dyah Wahyuni, the Main Director of the PT Pertamina Bina Medica Indonesia Healthcare Corporation – the company overseeing the facility’s construction.
The hospital is being built within the Health Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Sanur, and will boast 260 wards spread over four floors. The facility will also host centres of excellence for cardiology, oncology, neurology, gastro-entero-hepatology, and orthopaedic services. Additionally, the hospital will offer a range of medical check-up and diagnostics services.
The hospital is intended to serve as a magnet for medical tourists, while also providing Indonesian citizens with an alternative to seeking healthcare overseas. The facility is being developed with support from the US-based Mayo Clinic. Construction on the project began in December 2021.
Bali – a province of Indonesia – is a major tourism destination for international holidaymakers. Travel figures from Australia to the province recently surpassed pre-pandemic levels.
