HCA Healthcare to roll out Meditech EHR across its hospitals
The healthcare provider is working to implement Meditech’s Expanse solution in an initial batch of 43 hospitals, before expanding it to more at a later date
HCA Healthcare has implemented Meditech’s cloud-based Expanse electronic healthcare record (EHR) systems across an initial batch of 43 hospitals in its network.
The solution will be supplied by Meditech through a multi-year agreement, with plans to deploy it across additional facilities in the coming months.
The system will offer clinicians “personalised workflows, embedded clinical decision support, and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities designed to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency at the bedside and beyond”.
It is hoped that the new software will support the private healthcare provider – which operates facilities across both the UK and the US – to deliver care “efficiently, consistently, and safely”.
“Expanse represents more than a technology upgrade; it is a key step in how we deliver care for the patients and communities we serve,” said Jake O’Shea, Vice President and Chief Health Information Officer at HCA Healthcare. “We believe Expanse will help our efforts to integrate data more seamlessly, enhance clinical decision support, and improve the adoption of future digital and AI innovations across HCA Healthcare.”
Helen Waters, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Meditech, added: “The milestone of 43 live facilities is a clear testament to the extraordinary teamwork and shared commitment across both our organisations. We are excited to continue building on this success.”
