Peking University opens dental centre in Hainan Province, China
The facility will significantly boost local oral healthcare capacity, serving both local residents and tourists
Peking University (PKU) Hospital of Stomatology has opened a new national dental specialty centre in the resort city of Sanya, in China’s Hainan Province.
The centre, which opened on 10 January, will offer both local residents and tourists access to world-class dental care, and provide a boost to the city’s oral healthcare capacity.
The centre comprises nine specialised buildings, all focused on subspecialties of dental medicine, including an emergency outpatient complex and an international medical services building.
Sanya – a key city in the Hainan Free Trade Port, and a hub for medical tourism – has seen a rise in demand for dental care in recent years.
The facility’s medical and management teams both come directly from the main campus of the PKU Hospital of Stomatology in Beijing. Moving forward, the main campus will work with medical universities in Hainan to jointly train more specialised professionals to support the facility.
Malaysian fertility clinic network Alpha IVF Group recently commenced construction of a new fertility centre in Sanur, Indonesia.
