Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care launches Telehealth Plus
The Asian healthcare network’s new digital health application connects local and international patients with healthcare practitioners
Ramsay Sime Darby Health Care (RSDH), which operates eight healthcare facilities in Asia, three in Indonesia, four in Malaysia and one in Hong Kong, has announced the launch of its Telehealth Plus platform, which is accessible via web browsers using a laptop, tablet or smart phone, and provides the group’s one million plus local and international patients with general health screening services such as virtual consultations.
RSDH CEO Greg Brown said the new development has come about in response to Covid-19 – the digital platform is designed to offer comprehensive services, including video consultations, for patients who prefer less frequent hospital visits.
“With its availability, we believe patients will be less prone to neglecting their health and seek medical attention more promptly from within the comfort of their home,” he said. “Patients can also upload test results and reports for doctors to review and due to this, virtual health screening can be done easily, with shorter waiting time for patients and consultations handled conveniently with a video call.
“Integrating digital services is a timely move and a vital enabler. We currently have individual health service platforms for our Malaysian hospitals and our hospitals in Indonesia. Our medium-term plan is to have one integrated platform including our Patient Management System, which includes electronic medical records for our group of hospitals, in order to provide seamless services to meet patients’ evolving healthcare needs,” added Brown.
The new digital platform also allows patients to make follow-up appointments, obtain prescriptions and make e-payments.
