New cardiovascular institute for Philippine hospital
The Heart and Vascular Institute, now open in the city of Cebu, is designed to offer a streamlined approach to cardiovascular care in the Philippines
Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue, located in the South Special Economic Administrative Zone in Cebu, the Philippines, has opened a new Heart and Vascular Institute.
The hospital stated that the facility – which has a floor space of almost 3,000m2 – is designed to offer patients “continuity across the entire cardiac care journey … integrating diagnostics, intervention, surgery, critical care, rehabilitation, and prevention”.
The institute will support the hospital’s role as one of the Philippines’ leading cardiovascular referral facilities, while responding to rising demand for cardiovascular services.
The facility features a “hybrid cath lab platform”, combining the Philips Azurion 7 M20 v3 hybrid OR suite and the Siemens Healthineers ARTIS icono cath lab system.
Alongside this, the institute is equipped with a number of “dialysis-ready coronary care unit beds”, complex cardiac rehabilitation services, and advanced diagnostic support.
Fellow Philippine healthcare provider Global Care Medical Center (GCMC) recently secured private equity backing to fund a planned hospital expansion.
