New partnership offers cover to Evelop customers
Passengers travelling with the Spanish airline to Caribbean destinations will automatically receive free medical assistance cover offered in partnership with Europ Assistance and InterMundial
Evelop passengers travelling to the Caribbean destinations of Havana, Cancun and Punta Cana will receive free medical assistance services, should they need them, as part of the airline’s programme, ‘Evelop takes care of you', which sees it pair with Spanish travel insurance broker InterMundial and France-based international insurance firm Europ Assistance.
The offering, which falls in line with the Caribbean’s mandate for all inbound travellers to have insurance cover with Covid-related benefits, covers all phases of the trip: from pre-flight to transit through the airport, flight and post-flight, explains the airline's Deputy General Manager, Paul Verhagen.
Offering peace of mind and protection to travellers
The travel insurance policy includes assistance in the event of a policyholder falling ill with Covid-19, covers medical expenses that may arise, covers the extension of the hotel stay in case it is deemed necessary, as well as assistance in returning to their place of origin.
Manuel López, CEO of InterMundial, commented: “Through this alliance with Evelop and Europ Assistance, InterMundial remains faithful to its objective of offering the greatest peace of mind and protection to travellers. In this way, policyholders can now start their flights with the highest guarantees and quality standards, which will also contribute significantly to the reactivation of the tourism sector as soon as possible.”
In August 2020, InterMundial began offering Spanish customers access to rapid and reduced price Covid-19 tests and cancellation cover in cases of a positive diagnosis.
