A new partnership between AXA Partners and Amadeus claims to provide an ‘end-to-end approach for healthcare and business travel to cover the customer journey from start to finish’.
Through the new partnership, Amadeus cytric Travel & Expense will facilitate easy travel planning, booking, on-trip services, and expense management for its members, while AXA Partners will complement the service with tailored healthcare services, including global coverage for medical assistance, on-trip risk management, and travel insurance.
Extra protection during the global pandemic
As per the agreement, Amadeus will pay AXA Partners for the insurance and medical assistance services only when the user actually travels, allowing the traveller to enjoy complete protection from the beginning to the end of their journey.
“With this partnership, we deliver on our commitment to help corporations ensure the safety and wellbeing of their employees while on business trips by providing them with medical insurance as part of a truly end-to-end solution for business travellers,” Vasken Tokatlian, Head of Partnerships & Alliances, Corporations at Amadeus, said. “Adding this to our offer is particularly relevant in the current climate so that both companies and their employees can feel confident, safe and protected when undertaking future business travel. We’re excited to have partnered with a leading company like AXA Partners.”
Initial deployment set for Europe
A press release from Amadeus reveals that the project will initially be deployed across Europe.
ITIJ notes that going forward, partnerships like this could look to become a staple – a report from Travel Again revealed that business travellers need products that improve their confidence in travel before they’ll be inspired to get travelling internationally again. And, as Amadeus aptly pointed out, the kind of offering that the AXA-Amadeus partnership offers provides a ‘convenient, flexible, and cost-effective way to pay for travel insurance, suited to corporate travel both in a Covid-19 world and once global travel picks up’.
“Companies are looking for integrated technology as part of their digital transformation. This has accelerated with the impact of Covid-19, as companies across industries look to control expenditure and bring about operational efficiency and flexibility to protect their business for the future,” Amadeus said. “The combination of Amadeus and AXA Partners provides companies around the world the solution to deliver a complete and safe journey to their employees, while saving on time and costs for the corporation.”
