Malaysian hospital opens international patient lounge
The move is intended to provide a welcoming arrival to the growing number of international medical patients, particularly from Indonesia
Malaysian healthcare provider Gleneagles Hospital Johor (GHJ) has opened a new international lounge for patients travelling from abroad.
The lounge will provide a welcoming waiting area for international arrivals seeking treatment at the hospital, as well as their companions.
The move by GHJ is intended to offer additional support to the growing number of international patients being served by the company, particularly from neighbouring Indonesia.
Since 2022, over 20,000 Indonesian patients have received care at GHJ, with the hospital reporting a 66% increase in inbound medical tourists in 2025 alone.
Turkey’s Liv Hospital recently opened an international patient lounge at Istanbul Airport.
