Burjeel Holdings, a specialty healthcare provider that operates in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Etihad Airways to promote Abu Dhabi as a global hub for medical tourism.

The agreement will see the two businesses create “referral pathways” for international patients, allowing for direct case management and clinician access.

Additionally, the collaboration will see Burjeel Holdings provide comprehensive healthcare coverage for Etihad’s workforce and their families across its network of hospitals and medical centres in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra. 

Burjeel will also provide health awareness programmes and wellness lectures to the same Etihad employees.

“By integrating Burjeel Holdings’ healthcare expertise with Etihad’s global network, we are creating a seamless system for medical access, high-quality treatment, and unparalleled patient experience,” said Dr Mohammad Qaddoura, COO, Abu Dhabi Emirate and Oman at Burjeel Holdings. “Our goal is to ensure that every traveller, employee, and family member can receive world-class medical care with ease and efficiency.”

Black Group Investment Holding, a Singaporean investment firm, recently invested S$100 ‎million (US$74.92 million) to acquire and develop a healthcare facility in Malaysia.
