Black Group invests in Malaysian medical tourism facility
Black Group Investment Holding, a Singaporean investment firm, has invested S$100 million (US$74.92 million) to acquire and develop a healthcare facility in Malaysia
The facility, called Meditel, is located in central Kuala Lumpur, and is intended to cater to growing demand in the medical tourism sector.
It will specialise in treatments for anti-ageing, rejuvenation, and advanced cell therapy treatments, but will also feature a specialised cell banking lab.
The facility will also provide a range of hospitality and wellness services, such as spa treatments, fitness programmes, nutritious dining, and holistic therapy.
Black Group said that the strategic location of the facility would “not only attract affluent local and international clients, but also offer a central hub for medical tourism in Malaysia”.
“By integrating advanced anti-ageing therapies, regenerative medicine, and cell therapy with world-class hospitality, we aim to create an unparalleled wellness destination that will attract international clients and contribute to Malaysia’s growing prominence in the global medical tourism industry,” said Dato Sri Alan Lee, Chief Investment Officer of Black Group.
Apollo Hospitals recently announced plans to establish a new 625-plus bed hospital in Mohali, in northern India.
