Bupa opens new extension to London’s Cromwell Hospital
The extension features a range of new facilities, and has also allowed for alterations to the layout of the existing building
London’s Cromwell Hospital, a private facility owned and operated by healthcare provider Bupa, has announced the opening of a new extension.
The 33,000ft2 (3,066m2) extension features a new therapies area, an additional theatre with facilities for robot surgery, a chemotherapy day unit, and an upgraded radiology department.
The facility also features a range of new equipment, including machines for X-rays, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and bone density scanning (DEXA).
The therapy department now features dedicated facilities for occupational and children’s therapy, including a sensory room and a rehabilitation gym.
The extension has also allowed Cromwell Hospital to refresh other areas, opening two new cath labs and a 10-bed recovery department.
“We are very proud to be opening the Lexham Gardens building at Cromwell Hospital,” said Sarah Melia, General Manager for Bupa Health Services. “This has been an incredible project transforming a 1970s building into a modern, sustainable medical facility that puts patients, people, and the planet at its heart.”
Bupa also recently announced plans to acquire King Edward VII’s Hospital in London.
