SEI healthcare moves to Malta
Independent medical education organisation SEI Healthcare is relocating from the UK to Malta because of increasing levels of red tape
The European Union (EU) is a key region for SEI Healthcare’s HowITreat.MD medical education platform that enables healthcare professions to access important information in their own language.
Workers in the healthcare sector can use the free tool to engage with and listen to thought leaders in their fields of expertise and stay on top of the latest news.
Why move to Malta?
“We simply weren’t able to efficiently provide for our European customers from the UK any longer, with many, many extra layers of red tape that delay our ability to deliver world-class services for our clients,” Samantha Harris, Head of Client Services, said. “A relocation to Malta, located in the EU, means we can continue to service our clients in the best possible way.”
The HowITreat.MD platform services over 500,000 healthcare professionals across the globe, 40 per cent of them based in Europe.
“Moving to Malta means we can continue to deliver the highest quality of products and services to our European clientele and ensure the company is optimally positioned as we move forward in this competitive global economy,” explained Head of SEI Healthcare Europe Charles Sweeney.
The HowITreat.MD 27 platform is useful for healthcare practitioners because it focuses on therapeutic specialties in engaging and interactive formats such as video and podcasts. The core element is patient case simulations where users can move patients through hypothetical scenarios. Additional formats include journals, webinars and live, interactive workshops so that healthcare professionals can use their preferred medium.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation ranks Malta’s health system as the fifth best in the world – ahead of the UK, US, Canada and Australia.
