IHG to open three hospitals in Oman
UK-based healthcare organisation International Hospitals Group (IHG) is to open three new hospitals in Oman
The three hospitals – which are to be built in Khasab, Suwaiq and Salalah in Oman – will provide intensive care, emergency services and specialist baby services. IHG is to build the facilities with support from UK Export Finance, which supplied a loan of more than £500 million for the project.
IHG is to provide a full design, construction and services package for all three hospitals, which will each employ specialists from the UK during the construction and design phases. In addition, the IHG will be procuring medical equipment to be used in the hospitals from the UK.
“The size of this contract demonstrates the appetite for the UK’s world leading healthcare expertise across the globe,” commented International Trade Secretary for the UK Liz Truss. “I am delighted UK Export Finance is supporting the construction of these three hospitals which will not only improve healthcare provision in Oman but will also expand IHG’s overseas business.”
