Construction launched on new international-standard hospital in Batam
The facility, located in a special economic zone (SEZ) near the city of Batam, is due to be fully operational by late 2027
Construction has begun on the Mayapada-Apollo Batam International Hospital (MABIH), a new healthcare facility that will serve local and international patients in the city of Batam, Indonesia
The work was launched with a groundbreaking ceremony on 27 August.
The hospital, which is due to be fully operational by the end of 2027, is located in the Batam Tourism and Healthcare SEZ. The zone was announced last year.
The project is a collaboration between Indonesia’s Mayapada Group and India’s Apollo Hospitals.
The goal of the hospital, which will be the centrepiece of the new SEZ, is to provide high quality, international-standard care and advanced treatments, enhancing both local healthcare provision and the Indonesian medical tourism market.
