Starcare opens new healthcare facility in Lagos
Healthcare provider Starcare International Hospital has opened a new site in the Nigerian capital of Lagos
Starcare announced the launch of the new facility, located in Lagos’s Ikeja district, at an inauguration ceremony on 4 May.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Ashraff Mohammad, Chairman and Managing Director of Starcare, outlined a number of procedures that will be on offer at the new site. These include laparoscopic surgery; laser proctology; endoscopic and laser spine surgery; cosmetic gynaecological surgery; weight loss procedures; and sports medicine.
The hospital’s new facility is intended to offer an international standard of healthcare comparable to that received in leading destinations for medical tourism.
“By elevating the quality of care to international standards, we aim to diminish the need for Nigerians to seek medical treatments abroad,” said Dr Mohammad. “Starcare is set to be a cornerstone in Nigeria’s medical landscape, ensuring that top-tier healthcare is accessible to everyone here at home.”
Ikeja is becoming a centre of expertise for high-quality medical treatments. AXA opened its own OneHealth hospital in the same district of Lagos in June 2023.
