Seventy per cent of people prefer purchasing insurance online
Insurtech Zelros has surveyed over 1,000 people and found that 70 per cent of people said that they would prefer either a completely online or hybrid experience when purchasing insurance
Breaking this down further, when considering purchasing insurance, 46.9 per cent of people indicate that they would prefer a digital experience and would not need help from an agent. Nearly a third of the respondents at 30.1 per cent say they would like a physical experience with an agent to provide personalized policy recommendations. The least picked response at 23 per cent was of those who would prefer a hybrid experience, combining the digital experience with the option to speak to an agent if they require more personalized recommendations.

When breaking it down by age, 44.5 per cent of 18–24-year-olds, 55.5 per cent of 25-34 year-olds, 50 per cent of 35-44 year-olds and 49 per cent of 45-54 year-olds surveyed said that they would prefer a digital experience, with everything done online. Nearly 40 per cent of over 54-year-olds would prefer a physical experience with an agent to suggest and provide personalised recommendations.
