Saudi Arabia and Morocco partner for better healthcare
The governments of Saudi Arabia and Morocco have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to cooperate on improving healthcare services
The MoU was signed on 16 August in Rabat by the Saudi Minister of Health, Fahad Al-Jalajel, and his Moroccan counterpart, Khalid Ait Taleb, Minister of Health and Social Protection.
The agreement will see the two countries cooperate on the goal of “health transformation”, according to a statement by the Saudi government, with the aim of “improving the quality of health services and enhancing prevention against health risks”.
This includes an exchange of expertise and scientific research, as well as cooperating to support and improve “therapeutic and preventative medicine, digital health, and pandemic management”.
Saudi Arabia also signed a similar MoU with the Thai government to support the development of the medical tourism industry earlier this year.
