MAXIS GBN appoints new CEO
Mattieu Rouot will be taking up the role, subject to regulatory approval
The appointment follows the decision by Mauro Dugulin to step down from the post of CEO from 1 July 2020.
James Reid, Executive Vice-President, Global Employee Benefits, MetLife and Chairman of MAXIS GBN’s board of directors, said: “I’d like to thank Mauro for everything he has achieved with MAXIS. Its success is because of his leadership, business expertise and commitment to the customer,” while Didier Weckner, CEO of AXA Life & Health International Solutions and Deputy CEO of AXA France, noted that Mauro’s leadership and investment in health and wellness innovation had ‘helped set MAXIS GBN apart’.
Mattieu came to the position from his role as Senior Vice-President of AXA International Employee Benefits (IEB), where he has been since 2014. During this period, he was involved in creating the MAXIS GBN joint venture in 2016 and has served on the supervisory board since its inception. He is currently working in partnership with Mauro to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.
“I look forward to using my experience to build on the strong foundations established by Mauro and the rest of the dedicated management team. My focus will be to drive innovation and investment in new technologies and solutions for the benefit of our clients and network partners. We will continue to explore opportunities across both mature and emerging markets to deliver sustainable growth and greater value for our clients, networks partners and shareholders,” Mattieu said.
Mauro noted that he was ‘delighted to be handing over leadership of the network to such a talented successor’, and with such extensive experience of both the organisation and the employee benefits industry. “Our operations have grown exponentially over the last five years, through geographical expansion and increasing our client base – we now support over 500 of the world’s largest multinationals – and, through our people as we have attracted some the best talent in the industry,” he said. “As an expert strategist with a vision for the next phase of the organisation’s development, Mattieu will prove a great asset in his new role as CEO leading the next ambitious phase of growth.”
