Finnair to offer rapid antigen tests
Finnish airline Finnair is introducing a rapid antigen test for €65 from 4 August
Several EU countries require travellers to have a negative Covid test as a requirement for entry. In response, Finair is making rapid antigen testing available to its passengers. Testing is handled by Finnair Health Services and is available at Finnair’s headquarters in Vantaa, Finland.
The test can be booked online with a Finnish personal identity code or date of birth. The test result and certificate are given in English delivered electronically within two hours. The results are also available in My Kanta in Finland.
Making testing affordable for any traveller
“Pre-testing is a prerequisite for safe travel in many countries,” said Kaarlo Karvonen, Finnair's Head of Security. “Therefore, it must be affordable and reasonably priced for anyone who wants to travel. A growing number of countries are accepting rapid antigen testing as a travel document. Our aim is to make this available also in other locations in Finland.”
The rapid antigen test is valid in most EU and Schengen countries and entry requirements of different countries can be checked on the travel restrictions map on Finnair's website. However, some countries only accept PCR testing for pre-testing, which Finnair does not yet offer.
Since November 2020, Finnair is offering complimentary Covid-19 insurance cover for customers departing from Finland.
