Hollard Travel Insurance launches new coronavirus cover
Hollard Travel Insurance has launched its new product ‘Covid-19’ to help travellers with the effects of the coronavirus
The product adds multiple Covid-19-related elements to Hollard Travel Insurance’s cover and was developed together with experts.
Uriah Jansen, Managing Director at Hollard Travel Insurance, said: “Containing the spread of unnecessary panic is as important as stopping the virus itself. We want to deliver peace of mind to all our travellers with the new product.”
Some of the benefits include reimbursement for: proactive testing for Covid-19, cancelled flights and events, and any flight delays due to medical emergencies on board.
There are now 98,704 confirmed cases of Covid-19 worldwide, 80,556 of those in Mainland China. Of those, 55,469 infected people have recovered and 3,383 passed away.
Today, Friday prayers were disrupted across the Middle East as Iran, site of the largest outbreak in the region, had to close nearly 60,000 mosques.
Hollard said that Covid-19 presented the travel industry with an unprecedented global challenge.
