AXA Gulf offers discount for vaccinated travellers
Insurer AXA Gulf is launching a 20-per-cent promotional discount on travel insurance to vaccinated customers
The discount has the aim of encouraging residents to be safe and healthy, whilst also helping with the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination drive in the region. The 20-per-cent discount on travel insurance will be available to customers who have had both vaccinations for Covid-19. The offer will be available only on AXA’s outbound Travel Smart product for short-haul trips. To get the discount, all customers need to do is confirm that they’ve been fully vaccinated and provide the date of their second dose.
With AXA’s Travel Smart plan, customers will enjoy a variety of benefits, including worldwide medical emergency assistance, protection against loss or theft of personal baggage, personal money and passport, emergency purchases of essential items in the event of a luggage delay, delayed departures as a result of unexpected events, and medical expenses and transportation in the event of sickness or accidental injury.
Rewarding those who contribute to a safe world
Commenting on the launch of the promotion, Franck Heimburger, Chief Personal Lines Officer at AXA Gulf, said: “At AXA, we recognise that we have a key role to play in helping customers protect what matters most to them. In the case of travelling, nothing matters more than safety and security. As such, we are proud to offer this discount and reward those who have contributed to the world safety by being fully vaccinated. Our customers can rest assured that they can travel safe and secure in the knowledge that we are there for them.”
At the beginning of the pandemic, AXA addressed travellers’ concerns by extending the travel insurance cover to include emergency medical expenses related to Covid-19. Additionally, AXA’s Covid-19 extension covers the expenses associated with the rescheduling of a return flight caused as a result of the virus.
In a recent article, ITIJ mused upon whether unvaccinated travellers may have to pay for travel insurance, and how this would likely be received.
