20th birthday celebrations for Allianz Care
The provider has commemorated the occasion by reflecting upon its growth in the last two decades, and looking ahead to the future of the international healthcare industry
Allianz Partners CEO for International Health and Travel Ida Luka-Lognoné declared that she was delighted to be celebrating the milestone anniversary. "It's a key brand within Allianz Partners, which is a global business focused on providing international assistance and insurance solutions to customers worldwide," she said, adding: "Our focus within international health over the last 20 years has always been on protecting the health and wellbeing of our globally mobile customers. This has never been more important than during the current situation. Over the last three months, we’ve seen a surge in interest for international private medical insurance as a result of Covid-19 and we’re delighted that we have been able to serve that demand while working remotely."
Allianz Partners originally launched the health brand under the name Allianz Worldwide Care in Dublin back in 2000, and the brand has since moved its headquarters to Paris – when Allianz Care became a brand of Allianz Partners. To this day, Dublin remains the primary hub of operations for Allianz Care, with 900 of its 1,300-strong workforce based there; the rest are spread across six continents.
"Within our team of health specialists, we're incredibly proud to have 60 different nationalities represented among the 900 employees based at our operational hub here in Dublin and a further 400 people working across our international network of offices," Ida said. "The breadth of nationalities we’re lucky to work with reflects the international nature of our business. We had hoped to mark this special occasion with a physical celebration, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic we are still celebrating together, but remotely instead."
She continued: "This milestone allows us to take a moment to look back at how business has grown over the past 20 years. I think it’s crucial we remind ourselves of how much has changed in that time and to anticipate the changes that the next 20 years could bring. The future of healthcare is very exciting. As well as new treatments there will be a continuing evolution of robotics, artificial intelligence and digital access to care. We’re looking forward to being a part of it for the next 20 years, as true healthcare partners for our customers."
