As Global Director of Clinical Services for Aetna International, Dr Hemal Desai leads on medical affairs for the assistance provider, including emergency assistance, telemedicine (vHealth) and other primary healthcare, clinical risk management and clinical policy development. He leads the global medical team and is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care for members through innovation and the adoption of international best practice. Hemal has 20 years’ experience as a doctor and still practices in the UK as a specialist in Family Medicine. He is an experienced medical leader having previously held senior roles in public and private sector working internationally in health insurance, health provision and government.
