Rokstone launches accident and health division
The new division hopes to achieve gross written premiums (GWP) of £100 million in the next five years
Managing general agent (MGA) and underwriter, Rokstone, has launched a new accident and health (A&H) division, to be headed by Darren Delande, the former Head of A&H at Optio.
The move, announced in a statement on 7 August, will cover a broad range of commercial and retail sectors, including travel insurance.
Rokstone hopes that the new division will achieve GWPs of £50 million in three years in its initial three years, and around £100 million within five years.
“It is challenging areas of niche specialty lines like these that Rokstone excels at,” said James Potter, Chief Executive of Rokstone. “A&H is a difficult market for brokers where there is a lack of capacity, and limited underwriters who are true specialists.
He added: “We give brokers that expertise and a reliable and consistent underwriting partner with a global reach and a ‘can do’ attitude. We’ll find a way, even for the most special risks. Being able to offer this level of specialism and flexibility for accident, health and travel all under one roof is also a big benefit for brokers.”
Fellow MGA Capacity Insights launched its new UK operations in June.
