One night, one man, 450,000 tonnes of toys
UK-based travel insurer Holidaysafe has created a ‘Santa Travels’ infographic that reveals the facts and figures of St Nick’s journeying around the world, including top gifts this season, what Santa should take into consideration when travelling and the cost of his insurance.
Holidaysafe says that Santa has over 450,000 tonnes of toys to carry, over 70 billion calories to consume, more than 23 hundred million stops to make and more than 200 million miles to travel. The top three gifts this year, according to the insurer, are the Sky Viper drone, Hatchimals and the SelfieMic music set.
According to Holidaysafe, Santa’s travel insurance would start at £49.72 with the insurer. The company says that things Santa would need to ensure are that: sleigh riding and chimney diving are covered under his policy, he doesn’t travel anywhere deemed unsafe by the Foreign Office (FCO), he declares any existing medical conditions, and he doesn’t overdo it on the sherry.
