A Message from ITIJ’s Editor in Chief about the conflict in Ukraine
The world is all too aware of what’s going on in Ukraine at the moment. Ian Cameron and Mandy Langfield would like to share the below message with our readers and clients
Ian Cameron, Editor In Chief, says: "The Russian invasion of Ukraine has caused countless casualties, not only of soldiers, but sadly also for civilians young and old. Men, women and children have been suffering air raids and nightly attacks on military and non-military targets, including hospitals and schools.
Our colleague from Assist Ukraine, Andrey Zimin, has requested our help in asking the international medical community for assistance. Andrey was born in Irpin, and he is currently back there helping with rescue efforts. He has described his birthplace to me now as a ‘vision of Hell’.
The people of Ukraine desperately need help from the international community, and would ask that if you wish to help that you send donations to: -
UNICEF

Red Cross

Disasters Emergency Committee

If you are able to donate medical equipment or ground ambulances, you can reach him directly: [email protected]"
Mandy Langfield, ITIJ’s Managing Editor, said: “It is heartbreaking to watch the unfolding story of tragedies that keep emanating from Ukraine. Men, women, and children have been forced to watch as their homeland has been destroyed. Stories of bravery in the face of terror, and determination in the face of destruction, are small lights in a very dark tunnel of oppression.
The travel insurance sector is supported by many travel security providers that have been active in assisting national and international employees in Ukraine with evacuation efforts. When the dust finally settles, we will be making sure to highlight the stories these organisations have to share about the vital role they played in ensuring the safety of as many people as they could in incredibly difficult circumstances.”
In the meantime, we support the efforts of international charitable organisations that are working so hard to support the evacuees crossing borders, and bring vital supplies to those still on Ukrainian soil.
On behalf of ITIJ and Voyageur Group, we thank you so much for your support.
Thank you.
Ian and Mandy
