ITIC Global 2020 moves to Vienna
The ITIC team has taken the decision to switch the destination of ITIC Global 2020 from Spain to Austria. The event will now take place from 3-5 November in the InterContinental Wien, Vienna, with the ITIJ Awards taking place on the evening of 5 November
Austria, and Vienna in particular, did incredibly well at controlling the outbreak and spread of the coronavirus. The move, combined with the slightly smaller hotel venue, will allow the ITIC team to better ensure the safety of crew and attendees who choose to join us.
The effect of the pandemic on the global travel and health insurance industry was swift and dramatic. ITIC Vienna offers the first opportunity since February for the professional community to come together to analyse how insurers, assistance companies and air ambulance operators coped with the outbreak of Covid-19, and going forward, how the industry can adapt to meet the changing demands of customers around the world.
ITIC Vienna 2020 takes place over three days – from Tuesday 3 November to Thursday 5 November. The conference sessions will be wide-ranging in nature and topic, with speakers, panels and forums allowing debate and discussions between sectors. Coronavirus will feature, but there will also be expert insights into medical assistance cases, cost containment, cruises, fraud, and the risks young travellers continue to take. Some presenters will be on stage in Vienna, while others will offer a virtual presence, but rest assured that our moderator will, as usual, bring everyone together to offer attendees valuable insights into the topic at hand.
While the health and safety of our attendees and staff is uppermost in our minds, we understand how important it is for companies to rebuild and further develop their industry connections while we are going through turbulent financial times. ITIC’s networking opportunities, therefore, remain – with masks and visors supplied as per international health recommendations. The Official ITIC Welcome Function will take place, while coffee and lunch breaks offer the ideal opportunity for attendees to forge new connections and renew old partnerships.
The ITIJ Awards will take place on 5 November as the finale of the ITIC Global conference as usual, attendees can join us in person or you can join us online at itij.com/awards. These awards recognise excellence and innovation in the global travel and health insurance industry, and the providers that service that industry. This year, more than ever, it is important that the companies that went above and beyond to keep their customers safe are rewarded for their efforts by ITIJ – the leading industry journal.
