According to travel management company musafir.com, Eid package enquiries by UAE residents increased by 40% in 2024 compared with the previous year.
The company reports the following travel trends for Eid, Ramadan and beyond, suggesting a shift in travel preferences:
- CIS countries like Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan continue to be in demand and sought-after destinations for Eid al-Fitr packages. Uzbekistan is also gaining popularity for its accessibility and affordability
- While affordability remains a priority for leisure travellers, interest in premium experiences has grown, suggesting a desire for enhanced comfort and luxury during vacations
- Frequency of travel has witnessed a significant rise, with an increasing number of travellers opting for multiple annual trips
- Business travel is experiencing significant growth this year, witnessing a remarkable 25% increase compared with 2023, indicating robust economic activity and corporate engagement
- While eco-friendly options are gaining traction in business travel, leisure travel is yet to catch up. However, many businesses are prioritising sustainability in travel arrangements
- The top destinations for business travel include GCC countries, Saudi Arabia, the UK, USA, Germany, and China.
