Delta to restart flights to Israel
The US airline confirmed it would restart direct Israel flights this summer
Delta Air Lines will be the second US carrier after United Airlines to resume flights to Tel Aviv. The company said it would restart daily Israel flights from New York’s JFK Airport from 7 June.
The Airbus A330-900 will be deployed for the route.
While Delta previously said it would resume Israel flights in May, it has “undertaken an extensive security risk assessment” and will continue monitoring the situation.
As well as United Airlines, further international airlines including Lufthansa and Air France have restarted Tel Aviv flights with an increasing number of carriers set to join them by the summer.
Delta inked a new codeshare arrangement with EL AL Israel Airlines, which offers its customers access to EL AL services from Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, and Fort Lauderdale.
