Bamboo Airways to open direct routes between Vietnam and Germany
Bamboo Airways and Munich Airport sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to widen the airline’s network to Europe
The European market will dominate the development roadmap of Bamboo Airways’ route network. To widen its international flight network, the airline will be operating the first direct flight connecting Vietnam and the Czech Republic from 29 March.
On 2 March, Bamboo Airlines signed a MoU with Munich Airport. The ceremony was attended by Bui Quang Dung, Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways and Andreas von Puttkamer, Senior Vice-President at Aviation Munich Airport.
von Puttkamer said: “We're delighted at the news that Bamboo Airways is launching direct flights between Vietnam and Munich. The new connections to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will give us direct access to this important future market for the first time.”
The MoU includes plans for two direct routes between Hanoi and Munich and HCM City and Munich starting from July. The routes will be operated by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Quang Dung said: “The MoU allows combining the strength of facilities and long-term operating experience of Munich Airport, with a rapidly-growing network and five-star-orientated service of Bamboo Airways, promoting the operation of direct routes connecting Vietnam and Germany, meeting the travel needs of people in the two countries.”
