AXA Health International has expanded its footprint in Africa through a new collaboration in Tanzania with Alliance Insurance Corporation and MIC Global Risks, strengthening access to international private medical cover in the market.

The partnership will support the rollout of AXA Global Healthcare’s Global Executive Health Plan (GEHP), aimed at businesses, expatriates, and internationally mobile professionals seeking access to treatment beyond national borders.

The move builds on AXA Health International’s October 2025 agreement with Executive Healthcare Solutions (EHS), which established a wider African distribution framework. In Tanzania, MIC Global Risks – appointed by EHS – will act as exclusive distributor, while Alliance Insurance Corporation serves as the licensed insurer, ensuring compliance with local regulations. AXA Health International will provide administration, medical expertise, and access to its global provider network.

Tanzania’s growing role as a regional hub for investment and trade is driving demand for international healthcare solutions, particularly for specialised treatments not available locally.

GEHP forms part of an international insurance framework designed to facilitate cross-border access to specialised care, including medical evacuation where required.

AXA recently renewed its collaboration with Shift Technology, an artificial intelligence (AI) insurtech specialist, for a further five years.
