AXA PPP healthcare, which provides private medical insurance in the UK and worldwide, is adding online counselling to its employee assistance programme (EAP) for larger-sized corporates and SMEs. The live webchat service will allow employees to discuss their concerns in private and in confidence in real time with a qualified counsellor.
The service can be accessed by mobile phone, tablet or computer Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. “Counselling works best when callers are comfortable with the way they connect with us. Talking to a stranger about what can be deeply sensitive and personal matters isn’t easy and we know some people prefer webchat to talking on the phone. So we’ve introduced online counselling to give them the choice – and make it easier to get in touch when they need someone to help them deal with the pressures in their lives,” said AXA PPP healthcare mental health lead Eugene Farrell.
