Travel Guard launches student travel safety campaign
The campaign includes a range of resources for students, parents, chaperones, and education providers
Travel insurer Travel Guard has launched a comprehensive student travel safety campaign designed to increase the awareness of those about to study abroad, or travel on school-sponsored international trips.
The company said its campaign website contains “engaging videos depicting common safety scenarios and advice, as well as safety-focused tips around topics such as travel choices, beach trips and nightlife”.
The initiative was developed with the understanding that students may not have much global travel experience, and that their chosen housing, transport, and activities may negatively impact their risk profiles.
The student travel safety campaign also offers a range of other resources designed to support students to “take ownership of research and planning for their trip”, as well as tips for parents, schools, and chaperones.
“International travel for educational opportunities is popular among students of all ages, but given the increased risks they face while travelling, more can be done to enhance their safety and wellbeing,” said Rhonda Sloan, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Travel Guard.
Travel Guard’s parent company, Zurich, recently announced a partnership with Singaporean transport operator ComfortDelGro.
