Sunway Healthcare Group opens new hospital in Ipoh, Malaysia
The hospital features a number of centres of excellence for specialties such as cardiology and orthopaedics
Sunway Healthcare Group has officially opened a new medical facility in Ipoh, Malaysia.
The Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh has 256 beds, 63 consultation suites, eight operating theatres, and 24 critical care units – including eight for paediatric and neonatal patients.
It also has a dedicated cancer and nuclear medicine centre, as well as centres of excellence for cardiology, orthopaedics, neurosciences, clinical oncology, women and children’s health, and digestive health.
The tertiary hospital also houses a PET-CT scanner and a surgical robotic arm system.
Lau Beng Long, President of Sunway Healthcare Group, stated that the new facility was integrated into the company’s healthcare network, and was “supported by our flagship quaternary hospital, Sunway Medical Centre” in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.
Bupa recently announced its plans to acquire King Edward VII’s Hospital, London.
