Sitata provides industry with travel risk management tool
Travel risk management firm Sitata has created a Covid-19 resource to help travellers, travel providers and travel insurers get verified and up-to-the-minute information about travel restrictions
By tracking Covid-19 statistics for each country and travel restrictions against the four criteria of airlines, border closing, curfew and social distancing, Sitata has created a free database through which the travel industry can stay up-to-date on the latest global travel restrictions. The firm explains that the database uses advanced software algorithms to detect threats or disruptions.
"Whether an Insurer uses it in their back office to add data to their models, or airlines use it to advise their customers, we just want to help in these unprecedented times,” said Adam St John, CEO and Co-Founder of Sitata.
Telling ITIJ why the company had chosen to provide its solution for free to the travel industry, St John said: “Why free? Simple. It didn’t seem right to try to make a quick buck when the entire industry was suffering. We knew our core competency of intelligence gathering could be used to support those in need and so we decided to do our part to help.” Very noble indeed.
