Pattern Insurance joins USTOA

The managing general agent said that it had joined in response to growing interest in embedded insurance in the travel sector
Pattern Insurance has joined the US Tour Operators’ Association (USTOA). The company, which specialises in embedded insurance provision, says that joining the organisation will enable it to ‘educate’ members on the benefits of the technology, and allow them to ‘collaborate with members’.
“It’s fantastic to be part of this incredible trade association, particularly at a time when the travel industry is regaining momentum,” said Meitav Harpaz, co-founder and CEO of Pattern Insurance. “We look forward to sharing our platform, which is helping many operators build and strengthen their customer trust with embedded insurance.”
Pattern cited a recent report by the Automobile Association of America (AAA) which found that 50 per cent of consumers were more likely to purchase travel insurance than they were pre-Covid. It argued that travel operators were ‘familiar’ with this surge in interest, as well as ‘the conversation around embedded insurance’. Membership to USTOA offers a chance to expand on both of these.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Pattern into the USTOA family,” said Luis Maravi, Director of Membership and Programming. “The travel market is always evolving, and it’s exciting to see the demand for instant compensation set to take centre stage within the next decade. Travel insurance offers very relevant benefits before and during travel, so it’s an ideal match to bring both insurance and the tour operator industry together.”
Pattern also partnered with travel technology developer Amadeus in November 2022, to offer its insurance proposals via the Amadeus Selling Platform.
