MSIG Asia announces investment and partnership with Ancileo
The two companies will work to improve accessibility and uptake of travel insurance through embedded coverage
Insurance firm MSIG Asia has announced a strategic equity investment and regional partnership with travel insurance technology provider Ancileo.
The two companies will work together to introduce “differentiated travel protection” that is “personalised, intuitive, and easier to claim”.
MSIG Asia stated that the goal of the partnership was to accelerate its travel insurance growth across Asia and explore options for embedded travel insurance.
The company reported that the partnership came amid “rapid intra-regional travel growth, driven by expanding connectivity across the Asia Pacific, and rising demand for seamless, digital-first journeys”.
Additionally, it stated that travellers increasingly expected insurance to be integrated into the airline and travel agent booking process.
“By combining with Ancileo’s technology and distribution expertise, we will deliver faster, more relevant experiences for travellers and create long-term value for our partners and customers,” said Clemens Philippi, CEO of MSIG Asia.
Fellow Asian insurer Generali Hong Kong recently announced a partnership with CoverGo to support the automation of parts of its claims process.
