This announcement comes after Staysure, Saga and Holiday Extras made adjustments to their policies, right after concerns were raised about the lack of cover insurers were providing for Covid-19 related issues during holidays.

Andrew Jackson, Managing Director at Just Travel Cover, said: “While the terms of each insurer differ, we do provide policies that will provide cover for emergency medical expenses if you were to contract coronavirus on holiday – and for repatriation, which would be the cost of getting you home, for example if you missed your scheduled flight due to being in hospital.

“This would be providing any pre-existing medical conditions have been declared and the policyholder acts in accordance with the T&Cs of the policy and is not travelling to a country where the FCO has advised against travelling.”
