International SOS announced the opening of a new assistance centre in Italy, as well as upgrades to its existing one in Dubai

Travel risk management and assistance firm International SOS has opened a new assistance centre in Milan, Italy.

The centre is intended to provide support to Italian companies operating abroad, as well as international clients operating in Italy, managing risks to the health, safety, and welfare of their employees.

International SOS said that the opening of the new assistance centre highlights “the importance of the Italian market for the group”. It added that its operations in the country have experienced annual growth of over 25% over the past four years, driven by demand for its medical and security services.

“The opening of the Milan assistance centre represents an important milestone,” said Daniele Grassi, Sales Director and Operations Liaison, Italy, at International SOS. “Our direct presence on the territory allows us to better understand the needs of Italian companies and to respond more quickly and efficiently, making a real difference at critical moments.”

Upgraded Dubai assistance centre opens

International SOS also announced the reopening of its upgraded Dubai assistance centre in the United Arab Emirates.

The upgraded centre features a dedicated telehealth suite showcasing International SOS’s telemedicine capabilities, as well as modernised facilities designed to enhance collaboration between multi-disciplinary teams. It also now receives real-time risk intelligence through a strategic alliance with Ontic, a supplier of threat management software.

The company said that the centre serves as a command hub for its operations across a “vast and volatile geographic region”, including the Persian Gulf, the Levant and Central Asia, as well as parts of Northern, Eastern and Southern Africa.

International SOS also announced a strategic alliance and investment with risk intelligence firm Factal last year.
