IMG completes World Nomads acquisition, expanding global distribution

The deal broadens IMG’s distribution across major international markets while retaining World Nomads’ established adventure travel proposition and global customer base

International Medical Group (IMG) has completed its acquisition of World Nomads, strengthening its global travel insurance distribution and expanding its presence across key international markets.

The deal, first announced in February, brings World Nomads’ established travel insurance offering and adventure-travel customer base into IMG’s global business. World Nomads serves travellers from more than 100 countries and is known for specialised travel insurance products and safety advice for adventure travellers.

The combined distribution footprint will cover the US, UK, European Union countries, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and Canada. IMG and World Nomads said they would continue providing travel protection and assistance solutions to millions of travellers worldwide.

Will Nihan, Chief Executive Officer of IMG, said the acquisition would also support World Nomads’ continued growth while maintaining its existing proposition.

“Customers and partners will continue to enjoy the products, service, and reliability they know today as we invest in new opportunities to enhance the traveller experience.”

The acquisition further broadens IMG’s international distribution capabilities while retaining the World Nomads brand and its focus on adventure travel.
