Hong Kong welcomes virtual insurance sales platform
Insurance provider Manulife Hong Kong has launched a ‘virtual face-to-face’ sales platform for customers wishing to purchase insurance products
The new platform, which is a new insurtech solution approved by the Insurance Authority (IA) through its fast track digital insurance application programme ‘Insurtech Sandbox’, was developed following the IA’s announcement of temporary Covid-19 measures that allow customers to purchase certain insurance products without having to physically attend a meeting with an insurance agent.
Launched on 15 June, the platform enables customers (new and loyal) to meet virtually with Manulife’s agents via a secure video conference and purchase individual insurance products. Policies can be signed off via technology that securely enables e-signatures and document sharing and, to protect the interests of all involved parties, the platform also enables recording in real time for record-keeping with the consent of customers.
