Ghana and Morocco sign visa waiver agreement
The agreement is currently awaiting parliamentary ratification, but is expected to boost tourism in both countries
Ghana and Morocco have signed a visa waiver agreement as part of plans to strengthen diplomatic ties.
The agreement, if approved by both governments, will ease movement between the two African nations. The waiver is also expected to boost tourism in both countries, as well as improve trade relations.
The agreement is currently awaiting parliamentary ratification in both countries – a requirement before it can be implemented.
The deal is part of a wider set of initiatives designed to deepen diplomatic ties between Morocco and Ghana.
Thailand has reduced the number of days offered to foreign tourists under its own visa waiver scheme.
