The Australian travel insurance and safety app has launched operations in the US

Freely offers access to travel insurance policies underwritten by Zurich American Insurance Company, as well as 24/7 emergency assistance in collaboration with travel risk management firm World Travel Protection.

Via the app, users can get a quote for travel insurance, pay, and submit claims. Additionally, Freely provides access to a range of risk mitigation tools and access to real-time travel advice notifications.

Freely has been available to travellers from Australia since 2020, and the US is the second country it has expanded into.

“With tremendous response and enthusiasm for Freely from Australian travellers over the past three years, we are excited to introduce this comprehensive solution with round-the-clock emergency support and real-time safety alerts to the US,” said Doug Skoog, Head of Marketing at Freely. “Our goal is to give travellers the protection and accessibility they need to travel more confidently and freely.”

Travel insurer Faye recently announced that it will offer telemedicine services to its customers, in partnership with Air Doctor.
