Eurocross to bring Covid testing to Turkish resorts
Turkish assistance company Eurocross Turkey has launched a programme that will bring the company’s Covid-19 medical teams directly to visitors
The programme ‘Patient Guard’ offers Covid-19 PCR testing, telemedicine, live consultations, and on-site English-speaking companionship to accompany holiday makers in and around popular tourism destinations in Turkey.
Travellers are coming back to Turkey
In the recent weeks, with the easing of the travel restrictions across Europe, travel has started to return to Turkey from certain European countries. While many countries still have warnings issued for the Mediterranean country, some have lifted them fully or partially. Currently, in the UK, Turkey is exempt from the FCO advice against all non-essential international travel based on the current assessment of Covid-19 risks.
With countries like Germany making PCR tests mandatory for their travellers prior to their return from Turkey, various challenges have surfaced for travellers regarding where to do sample-taking, obtaining test results on time, handling logistical arrangements, and required bureaucratic procedures.
Responsibility for wellbeing of travellers
With Patient Guard, Eurocross Turkey aims to minimise potential health risks and logistical challenges associated with travelling during the pandemic in Turkey.
Eurocross Turkey CEO Mehtap Akkaya commented: “We feel a big humanitarian responsibility for the wellbeing of travellers who take the sensitive decision to travel internationally and come to our country in these difficult times.
“This is why we have decided to open our company assets and resources to our international community. With this programme, we engage a set of practical solutions for our clients so that travellers are less likely to run in to health risks in a foreign country and feel more protected during their time away from home.”
