As passengers travelling or connecting through Dubai must have a negative Covid-19 PCR test certificate taken a maximum of 96 hours before departure to be accepted on the flight, Emirates has struck up an agreement with select hospitals in Bangkok, Thailand, to facilitate international travel between the two countries.

Passengers that are planning to travel from Bangkok can now obtain special rates on Covid-19 PCR tests. Partner hospitals include Bangkok Hospital, Bangpakok 9 International Hospital, Piyavate Hospital and Princ Hospital Suvarnabhumi.

Boosting trade while enhancing Covid-19 tracking data

Thanks to the new partnership, passengers are now more easily able to stop over or travel to Dubai – where Covid-19 PCR tests are mandatory for all inbound and transit passengers. In mid-September, Emirates announced a similar initiative for its outbound travellers, whereby its passengers could receive discounted Covid-19 PCR tests at select hospitals in Dubai, including American Hospital Dubai Media City Clinic, American Hospital Al Barsha Clinic and American Hospital Al Khawanij Clinic.

The new initiative, which aims to encourage more prospective travellers to book with Emirates, is yet another example of an airline innovating to boost trade. Partnerships with local hospitals will also help these facilities carry out more testing, helping to give destinations a more accurate overview of their epidemiological data.
