Emirates to offer flight disruption travel product
The airline hopes to attract passengers back following a dip in air traffic through the Middle East due to the ongoing war between the US, Israel, and Iran
UAE-based airline Emirates has announced plans to offer a new travel insurance product to customers, in a bid to lure passengers back following a dip in air traffic through Dubai, due to the ongoing US/Israel–Iran war.
The product would guarantee that passengers could return home even if flights were disrupted by conflict-related events – even if that meant arranging seats on rival airlines when necessary.
The announcement comes at a time when Emirates is working to restore its services – the company is currently operating at around 80% of its pre-conflict levels, with an average aircraft occupancy of around 75% – although some routes, such as those to London, are reportedly operating at near-full capacity.
Cover Genius recently renewed its multi-year partnership with Turkish Airlines to continue offering embedded travel insurance to the airline’s customers.
