Embedded insurance gains ground as Cover Genius deepens Traveloka partnership in APAC
The provider has expanded its partnership with Traveloka, embedding cancellation and travel protection into booking flows across multiple Asia-Pacific markets
Embedded insurance provider Cover Genius has expanded its partnership with Traveloka, integrating cancellation and travel protection more deeply into the Southeast Asian travel platform.
The agreement saw Cover Genius provide embedded protection products across Traveloka’s platforms, including cancellation protection in Australia and comprehensive travel cover in several Asia-Pacific markets.
In Australia, customers can access cancellation protection at the point of purchase, with policies designed to cover a range of unforeseen events such as illness, accidents, transport disruption, severe weather, theft of travel documents, and other travel-related emergencies.
The companies said the expanded rollout formed part of Traveloka’s international growth strategy, including its entry into the Australian market, and reflected a broader push to make ancillary services available directly within the booking flow.
Cover Genius said the arrangement extended beyond a single-market integration, creating a scalable framework for deploying embedded protection products across multiple regions and travel products.
The partnership reflects a wider shift in travel distribution, with online travel platforms increasingly embedding protection products at checkout in an effort to improve conversion, increase customer retention, and generate additional revenue streams.
Traveloka, which operates across markets including Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia, said the integration was intended to simplify the customer journey by offering protection options alongside flights, accommodation, and activities.
