Election year 2026 may bring travel security risks

Political developments linked to elections can quickly alter security conditions and disrupt travel. In 2026, major elections are scheduled in 15 countries across five continents, several of them in politically sensitive environments.

To help organisations and travellers assess potential impacts, Safeture has released its Election Informer 2026 report in collaboration with intelligence partner Riskline. The report covers elections across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia Pacific.
