Cruisebound names Allianz Partners as exclusive travel protection provider
The online cruise booking platform has enhanced its customer experience by integrating insurance and assistance services to protect travellers against unexpected disruptions
Online cruise agency Cruisebound has appointed Allianz Partners as its exclusive provider of travel protection products, expanding insurance and assistance options available to customers booking cruises through the platform.
Under the partnership, travellers booking with Cruisebound can purchase Allianz Partners travel protection plans at the point of sale. The products are designed to protect against a range of unexpected disruptions, including covered trip cancellations, interruptions and travel delays, as well as unforeseen medical emergencies and baggage-related issues.
The travel protection plans may reimburse up to 100% of a customer’s non-refundable insured trip costs when a cruise must be cancelled or interrupted for a covered reason. Travel delay benefits may also cover additional expenses incurred when travellers are delayed and need to catch up with a cruise, as well as certain pre-paid costs lost during the delay. Other potential benefits include coverage for emergency medical and dental treatment, emergency medical transportation, and lost, delayed or damaged baggage, subject to policy limits, per-day maximums, terms and conditions.
In addition to insurance coverage, Cruisebound customers will have access to Allianz Partners’ travel assistance services, including concierge support and 24-hour assistance. Customers are also able to use the Allyz mobile app, which provides a digital gateway to policy information, claims filing and management, flight tracking, and access to medical support through virtual or in-person consultations.
Cruisebound said the partnership aligned with its aim to simplify cruise booking by combining transparent pricing, comparison tools, and human support in a single digital experience. Allianz Partners highlighted Cruisebound’s end-to-end booking platform, which allows customers to search, compare, and book across major cruise lines on desktop or mobile devices.
Allianz has formed a global partnership with artificial intelligence (AI) company Anthropic to accelerate the adoption of responsible AI across its insurance operations.
